Hmm, ?80 to enter seems a little on the steep side compared with my local one, Kop Hill.
Watching the cars go up Kop Hill I think they're looking more for spectacle than speed at these events. It's probably why the course record still dates from 1921.

Yes, pleased to say I took part last year in my S3. It?s primarily for charity and they are strictly demonstration runs, the rules of the road apply. 60mph it is, but they put hay bale chicanes in so you would do well to go faster anyway.
Something like 4 x oversubscribed and the organisers look to select a diverse range.
Must say I thoroughly enjoyed it but think of it as a charity spectacle rather than a regular hill climb.
