Thank you. It's a 1965 S2. I'm trying to put it back to original spec.

Thanks Henry.

I'm following your 7 thread with great interest. You're doing a fine job of preserving the car. I think I may have over restored my red Elan.

i fitted 2 new rear tyres: A539 yokohama 175 60 13 - an adequate tyre (not more):but even a 105hp elan calls for something like this and not the crap you can also use: i'll offend too many here, as most of the recommended bs i read about here are proper for a Justy or some other 50hp piece of junk: TYRES are YOUR safeguard, mates!!!!!! sandy ive said this before and will say it again!

Dropped my ballot off in downtown Napa in my Elan (today is the US Super Tuesday Primary Election). First outing in 2 months as I have been out of the country.

What a fantastic day here (80 deg F, 26+ deg C ) and the Elan is purring nicely.

People stopped everywhere in town to ogle the car. Lady that took my ballot at the drop off - literally jumped up and down upon seeing the car. Mothers pointed. Children waved. I felt like I was in a parade.

It is a fabulous looking car, but did anybody under fifty years of age know what it is?

Went out for a proper blat with "Matt Elan", who took many pictures of the car up on the South Downs in the pissing rain. Pleased to say it performed very well especially on the windy hilltop roads near Steyning.

Hope I didn't give it too many beanz for you, Matt!

Finished the Brake lines on my new chassis:
IMG_9934.JPG and
Note the 3 brake lines crossing the vacuum tank on the chassis!

Brake lines on Federal (LHD) cars with the Tandem Master cylinder are a disaster due to the "T"s still being on the RHS of the chassis rail.

The LH front brake caliper is closest to the master cylinder, but Brake fluid goes over the vacuum tank twice to get there!

Nice neat job. I like to see straight runs of brake lines.

I guess your Sprint is on it's original chassis?
