I've reread Rohan's write-up on 2000E Gearbox and the Pin i found is the small Interloc one
Thanks Rohan

The Pin is the one that goes through the middle selector rail. When i removed the selector rail i had to turn it through 90° pullback and i didn't see it fall out.

Some clumsy french mechanic has bust the knob on my pull out light switch. I can mend it but how do you get it off the rod? Very simple clear instructions needed as, as Tim will confirm, I am very old!! D

TBG,
there is a little spring loaded pin you need to push in carefully. Then it will come off if your not too clumsy lol.
You can get a new one from rimmer bros "triumph herald".
I bought one for my Sprint. The icon is a little different but only an anorak will notice.

Not so old that you can't get into your Elan, though!

Today picked up the now metal sprayed stub axle. NZ$220. Interestingly my records show the same company did the other side in 1986, for NZ$50...!

Whilst waiting I fitted a new hood, and hood cover.
If I was charging I'd charge 3 times as much for fitting the cover.

Stub axle back into hub and new bearings into both rear hubs.
Diff back in, everything reconnected followed by a successful test drive.
Hopefully a trouble free WOF, ( MOT ), tomorrow morning.
And then ready for Summer !

Hi

Congratulations. Looks like a really fun car.

You took a delivery, and I delivered a chassis out from under my recently purchased "for total restoration" plus 2s.

All the best

Berni

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

Took my door apart to start the replacement of window lift wire! Oh what joy. Wasn't too bad but not looking forward to getting the lock rods back in place..
