Gentlemen, thank you all for your kind words.

Without the help of Mike Ostrov, the Elite would still be just a pile of bits.

Have a good Sunday :-)

Elites are going nuts. One just went for huge money on BAT even with 40 year custom paint and a very tired interior.

Meanwhile, I have found a Kubota tractor alternator is my replacement to fit the 1820, so I hope to be on the road again soon. Oh, also on Saturday son and I dragged home VSCCA-logged SB1416. And I was priced out of an 03 Esprit that went huge. Hate that. John

Oh, spent the day modding a Denso copy alternator to fit in the crampt Elan space. Got a large diameter pulley attached, which required making two spacers to lift it off the housing, two because one disappeared on the floor. Investigated what the terminal labels all meant, and found there must be thirty seven different labels for the four or five possible functions. Rewired for a different connector. Fitted to the existing brackets, designed for this housing. Discovered the hot out, known variously a A, B, and B+, wanted to occupy the same space as the steering column. Removed and pondered how to move the A, B, B+ out of the way. Rotating the case was a possibility. Made progress separating the case. Then found that to do the job the entire thing would have to be reduced to bits. Cleaned up. Visited ebay for a similar cased alternator with a repositioned A, B, B+. But what else is there to do for an entire day?

Finished making a cover for the M/C and moving the pedal box over a tad to avoid as much wheel rubbing as I can.

Hi Graeme

That's lovely looking work you have done there.......I'm very impressed!......

May I ask where you purchased your 2 Fixings you used from?....I was chatting to a friend this morning about using them on the engine cowel on his light aeroplane and he wanted to know where you can buy them? He wanted aircraft grade but they look exactly the same as the ones you have used.

Many thanks.....how long do you think before the car is finished? I would love to have a good look at what you have done!

All th best

Adam

Re-instated the ballast coil system on Friday night but today was test day. Seams to be working well and car send to run a little better even thou it shouldn't make a difference.
