This is the second Elite owned by Jim Clark; both given to him by Chapman.
I think the first car an early S1 was the one that burnt.
But, on the other hand, being a Lotus, they both might have burnt up.
My wife's early Elan coupe had an electrical fire, which fortunately because of her fast thinking, and a fire extinguisher in the car, kept it from becoming a ball of black fuzzy stuff.
We added a few more fuses and a couple of Bosch relays instead of the traditional "front and back fuse" British system..
