Insurance and MOT

Hello.
I have just reinsured a lotus with Footman James. I was with Lancaster.
With FJ I have agreed value. But just noticed the small print. The agreed value will be invalidated if a vehicle built after 1960 does not have an MOT. Whereupon market value will apply.
This coming May we will no longer need MOTs on many of our cars... does that mean that my agreed value is worthless ?
I have written to the computer but expect no response...
Just thought I would mention it ... wasn't in the small print with Lancaster....

Hi
I thought this would happen, I have just renewed with Lancaster and it is not in the rules yet so I need to keep an eye on any changes.
I anticipated that I would continue having the car tested to be sure that I have proof of road worthiness for any challenge in the future.

Perhaps they have not updated the terms and conditions yet as it has not come into force as yet

I can't see why anyone would not want to have an MOT for their lotus .
what worries me now is that maybe MOT stations will decline to MOT older cars ... that would cause me some concern

Err, why on earth would they do that, they would be turning away good business.

I can't see why any tester would turn down the work on an easy to check car like ours.

Except it means they have to apply what to many of them will be some out of date and unfamiliar MOT requirements.
