Good news ! We are closing in !
The first print test of the ringbinder arrived today, a bit heavy (4.2 kg vs 2.25 softcover),
wider (9cm vs 4.5 cm)




Still needs some adjusting, a bit too wide. Rings must be moved 0.5 cm.


I am happy with quality of ringbinder and paper.
A few changes (bar code is wrong, printer was not stated) and we are good to go.

I now have most details available to determine prices for the ringbinder.

Regular price (shipping costs not included) will be:

115 USD (US)
(UK & EU price including VAT, US price excl. sales tax if aplicable).

The printer is finishing the first batch of ringbinders, next week I will receive them.

As shipping to the US will be the slowest (weeks!), I will ship most of it there first.
The rest of the batch (28 ringbinders) is available for a "pre-order" special offer.
Which - sadly - excludes the US and RoW. US customers have to wait for the books to arrive at RD Enterprise.
(Unless you are willing to pay 50? shipping costs ...)

Also, there will be an optional slipcase, same color as book, printed on the outside, custom size to host the ringbinder.
I am not sure when it will be available, details and pictures next week.
It will costs about 16? to 19? (depends on VAT clasification), problem is shipping costs.
It is light but voluminous to ship, so if you are interested, you should wait with your ringbinder order.

I heard from another buyer of the ring binder version here in the US who is missing the final chapter: Overhaul and Rebuild (pages 653-671). I just checked my copy and I'm also missing that section. Curious if this is an issue with the versions sent to the US, more widespread, or if we're just the lucky ones? The pages that are there are great though. Really pleased with both the content and print quality.

thanks for the feedback. No one saw it coming, the two PDFs for the printing were made one after another, sizes are equal, nonetheless the final chapter is missing in the ringbinder PDF !!

I will get to print it now and send the missing chapter to RD & Club Lotus as soon as I get them back from the printer. Of course all buyers will get the missing & updated pages !

Just checked my copy and that final section is missing from mine too. Mine was ordered direct, looks like a printing issue.

today I collected the updated ('Lotus Specialists') and the missing chapter ("X Overhaul and Rebuild"), packed them and shipped them to Club Lotus, RD Enterprise, Susan Miller and Rainer Brammer.

Those who already bought the 2nd edition ringbinder, will get the updated&missing chapter for free.
Please do not rush to ask for the chapters, shipping will need a few days (especially US).

For those who bought the softcover version: no missing chapters !
And if you wish to have the updated "Lotus Specialist" chapter, in a few hours you can download it from theelanman.com, look at the "Service" section.

Another detail:
Adding the last chapter to the ringbinders I have at home, I found the location of the Table Of Content pages basically useless.
If you have to go to the last pages to look at the TOC, you are basically already tired, because you moved roughly 3.5 kgs of paper already !
And after looking into the TOC then you go forward to the desired location .... !
After closing the book, you moved through all ca. 680pages, 7 kg !

So my well-meant proposal to all ringbinder users:
move your TOC to the front of the book !
