Posting problems

My posting skills are deplorable!
Sometimes when I reply to a post, the fact that a response has been received is shown in red, along with the date, indicating something has been added to a previous post.
This is good because it helps avoid a proliferation of posts on the same subject.
Sometimes however the fact of a response does not appear.
And if not, the the addition may entirely escape attention!
See for example my recent Plus 2 posts relating to steering.
What am I doing wrong?
Regards
Bill

What computer, operating system and browser program are you using?

I can't see anything wrong with your posting at:
lotuselan-plus2-f51/early-steering-column-t39454.html#p276961

Sometimes you won't get an answer if no one knows the answer or if those who do know are not regular visitors.

If you re-edit a post you might want to emphasize the change or put <Later> at the end of your original post and then put the revised version. Otherwise as you say you amendment might not get noticed.

Thanks, Billwill.
That procedure is a bit advanced for me.
I believe I use Chrome.
At any rate I get the most magnificent help from the forum.
I have a garage of English cars. Of all the relevant forums this one is the best for a variety of reasons!
The issue I raised is I think of quintessential importance and after over 40 years of Plus 2 ownership I still do not know the answer!
After an hour or more of searching it appears to have not been previously agitated on the forum and even the knowledgeable would have needed to search to find my question.
I think I should have risked the ire of others and started a new thread....if that is the right term!!
Regards
Bill

Yes it's best to create a new topic/thread, if the subject/question has not been aired for some time.
