Lotus Elan

Lotus' Suppliers

PostPost by: trw99 » Mon Apr 24, 2017 1:01 pm

We know that in the course of manufacturing the Elan, Lotus used a number of outside suppliers. I thought it might be interesting to document some of these firms. We have already had a few of threads on perhaps the best known, Bourne, who made the earliest Elan bodies. So here are one or two more. Feel free to chip in with others you know of.

I'd never heard of Filabond, or Beck Koller as the firm was called, but here is an advert they placed in the Autosport Lotus supplement of 1968:

And another from badge suppliers Fattorini, from the same edition:

Lastly, the well known Springall firm, suppliers of steering wheels:

Fattorini did, and as far as I know, still do supply the proper enamel nose badges. Not the plastic garbage they fit now.
