I have first hand knowledge of this Europa. It belonged to a friends late husband, laying in their garage for decades. She would very much like to know as restoration occurs.
I recently found this in her garage,and wonder if it is the missing gear linkage

Sadly I am no longer an Elan owner, but have moved on through various Lotus models to my current '07 Exige

I've recently repatriated an early Europa restoration project from the US!

I couldn't resist, always liked them as a kid as they were "different"

(and they obviously remain so today, given your wife's thoughts... very much a "marmite" car!!)
