Hi Sandy
Is there enough room under that dry sump for the Elans front roll bar ? or have you modified the bar links to get clearance ?

cheers

.......you see everything rohan: ill add a picture tonight: the actual "housing with a very thin "bearing" is a couple of machined chunks of ally and a uniball (rosejoint) both sides. snowy greetings from the alps sandy

Sandy,

Make sure your scavenge line from the sump to the pump is in good shape and rated for vacuum. If the line collapses, the scavenge pump starves, all the oil remains in the sump and the oil tank runs dry.

Both Jay Ivey and Arnie Loyning use special oil lines that won't collapse under vacuum. Jay told me his story about ruining an engine twice because of a $3 piece of hose that looked ok.

i agree, BUT this is braided hose an10 and very short (so it can handle this minimal vacume) AND its been that way for many years: if i don't get oil pressure within 15 seconds (+/-) i dont go nowheres. so far, or since 1981 i never had an oilsupply problem! thanks for the input sandy

They make a spring to insert in the hose to prevent it from collapsing.
