Are we the lowest mileage drivers on the planet?

From what i've seen in the past Elans seem to do ten years of every day driving before needing serious work (New Chassis etc) so many of them end up sat in garages needing work. So it's not difficult to find cars that have long periods off the road.

against that, in the day it was practically impossible to find one that had not had at least one odometer haircut, mine had so many owners it needed a continuation logbook, it was probably clocked between half of the transactions, in fact the bezel no longer has any retaining clips
I quite agree though that so many were locked away that there will be an awfull lot of low mileage ones out there and very few of todays survivors do big mileages.

....................20 years ago i bought a black JPS europa TC 5gear with 9000miles on the clock for 900quid - finally, after 100hrs of getting gras out of the "cabin ", other preperations I kept the head for my elan and sold the rest for the same ?? i paid - therefore a free NEW TC head! sandy
