If I could find another elan running donuts close by, we could shoot a comparison video, but there are no other elan owners within cooee of me, so it probably wont happen, but most elan owners know that donuts are pretty ordinary things so it would be hardly worthwhile doing a comparison.

Interesting video but shouldn't this advert be in the appropriate section of the forum?

Jeff's flow chart under announcements 'where should I post topics' would suggest you are telling folk about stuff for sale therefore it should be in classifieds.

Jeff's rules:

Advertising Policy
Commercial Advertising (including auctions, sales, fundraising efforts, promoting your business in your signature, linking to external sites with which you are affiliated, etc.) is strictly prohibited. You may not reference your automotive related business or URL in your signature, user profile, or your username unless you are a forum sponsor.

So are you a paid sponsor of the site CJ (I didn't get where I am today by blagging free advertising/exposure)? I'd have thought it would pay you (and Jeff) to do so. This thread has already had over 400 views -where else could you get such Elan specific and such a target audience? Fair dinkum?

Putting the advertising aspect to one side, it is a very interesting video. The driveshafts behave as expected, but there seems to be significant fore/aft movement of the hub as torque is applied and removed from the driveshaft at gear change points. Be interesting to know whether this was due to compliance in the suspension bushing or whether the chassis itself was distorting where the suspension bushes are mounted.

Yes I noticed the same but I thought in the end that it was the camera itself moving under acceleration mainly as the body above the hub also appears to move at the same time.

cheers
