Hi Ross,

When are you going to release the riding mechanics from their duties ?

I know you will want your cars in shape before you let them leave

Look forward to seeing some photo's and more tales, keep 'em coming.

Doug.

The riding mechanics have been released and have returned to England without completing the repairs to either car. They cleaned them and looked at the stuck door, but no joy so far. I will get both cars sorted soon as I have found a dynamo rebuilder and have ordered the ignition switch for the Seven, I have an appointment for the door tomorrow so things should be right soon.

In the meantime here are some photos from the trip. :D

Another days posting of photos. Start with number 12 and use the left arrow to get them in sequence down river as we actually went. I'll do better tomorrow

Great pic's, Ross.

Wanted to mention that Red Wing has always been a favorite crossing spot for us and we can only hope to make 100 and be as spry as your dad appears!

Kurt, We really liked Red Wing a town very much like Vermilion I think.. I did get a photo of the worlds largest boot; if you want me to post it let me know :D

Greg, You should have told me...Alma is so small I'm sure I could have found them. We had a great lunch at the cafe overlooking the locks and watched a double barge go through in two sections because it was too big to fit as one unit.

Now here are some pictures from further down the river:

Ross, though we have crossed the river at Red Wing several times I'm afraid we only did a windshield tour so if you have the smiling LOUTS next to the "boot" in your picture I'd sure like to see it! Too bad you missed the Spam museum at Austin, Minnesota!

The best part of the river crossing there is the drive on either side...especially the Minnesota side.

The Red Wing pottery company is still based there as well. You can't go to an antique sale here abouts without seeing some of the old crockery for sale.

Got to thinking, Ross....not only did you guys miss out on the "SPAM" museum in Austin Minnesota but you missed the "Biggest Ball of Twine" in Darwin Minnesota!!

You're going to have to get the British contingent of the LOUTS back to do this trip right!! :D
