I've just arrived (Friday evening) into Palo Alto for the week.

Any local Lotii guys ?

Hello Peter,

There are many of us Lotus enthusiasts here in the SF Bay Area. I am about 110km away, north and east of you.

The Golden Gate Lotus Club has a meeting on Friday evening, April 17 not far from you. You are most welcome to come, I can forward you the address via PM. http://www.gglotus.org

There are over 200 members living in the area and the club has a page on Facebook.

Thanks for that, and the PM

Sadly I'm leaving on Thursday evening, so I guess lesson learned is to check the GGLC calendar before I book flights :D

If anyone needs a hand with their project on Sunday, just collect me and keep the coffee flowing 8)

If I was in Palo Alto with a little spare time I would certainly make the trip to Mike Ostrov's home/shop in El Sobrantes, about 50 miles north of Palo Alto.

Mike is a legend in Lotus circles for his knowledge and passion for all things (early) Lotus. If he's home he has a selection of Lotus cars for his fellow enthusiasts to try. if you think you might want to do it we can PM you Mike's details.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I am using taxis this time, but that sounds like a great trip, so next time I will definitely get a rental.

Bay area folk,

Anyone have an evening (tues or wed) this week to get together with Peter for a pint?

Regards,
Dan Wise

Peter,

Thank you for the kind words.
The conversation was well worth the top down drive to PA. It was great to hear about your +2 Zetec build and your solution evolution with the front sway bar.

We do hope you can get back out here soon, so you can meet the other characters in the Golden Gate Lotus Club, go for a drive, have a look at Mike Ostrov's Elite/Elan conversions and some of the memorabilia in his shop.

Best regards,
Dan Wise
