Vernon
Apologies for the delay in responding to your concern about "ripping each other off" I have just got back from Abu Dhabi when at the time you were still scouring the internet (ebay/amazon) having already secured a copy of Mr Bucklands book. I was enjoying a cold beer at the hotel after the race. I have no doubt I paid a very high price for my beer but having made the decision I did not feel the need to go online and see if it costs more or less elsewhere, I enjoyed it instead. I think we're all old and ugly enough to take responsibility for the purchasing decisions we make...
At least one member of the forum saw the lighter side of my spoof Ebay listing and enquired whether I had a "Buy It Now Price" Ciao Gino
On a less lighter note all is not as it appears on this thread
Vernon you omitted to mention that you offered to purchase the book outside of eBay, the offer was declined, you then paid a higher price than you offered me for your copy and then saw the final sale price mine achieved - a touch of sour grapes perhaps.
The 2nd highest bidder was an individual who has contributed to this very thread .Had that individual not pushed the bidding up it would have realised only 25 Quid. His choice and decision.......
Foster Cooperstein has been suggested as a source for Stateside purchase of this book, no price's on his website. No surprises there, when I looked at his stand at Laguna Seca his books were priced at top Ebay (Buy It Now) money. I don't know what he charges but by the time he buy's a copy, has it posted to the US (a heavy book), factors in his profit and then posts it - I suspect it ain't cheap.
Now you have the book enjoy reading it, don't concern yourself about whether you could of got it for a tenner less or you saved a tenner, you'll enjoy it far more........ENDS
PS. I bought mine direct from Mr B, 50quid incl postage, as it happens I got 2 for the price of one but thats another story
