I've often wondered where the 'unusual' local area name stems from.

At first I thought you meant Bromsgrove... but then I looked at a map & found Lickey End...

I've done a quick search for the origin of Lickey End.
I couldn't find much info but apparently 5 miles from there is a village called Bell End !
(Not sure if this means the same to anyone outside the UK.)

This is not a joke honestly.

If you did not notice there was an "official" confirmation of this in the last Club Lotus mag.

Quote from the article (copyright Club Lotus)

... Paul tells us the premises and property (but not the business) have just been placed on the market with Burley Browne a local firm of estate agents. If you?re interested in the 1.66 acre freehold site the person to speak to at Burley Browne is Peter Brown on 0121 321 3441. With signs the property market is beginning to show solid growth again this in itself could well represent a very good investment but we know Paul will be heartbroken if his business doesn?t find a new principle to carry on all his good work. Any parties interested in the business - with the premises or not - should contact Paul on 01527 835656 for a confidential discussion.

If only I had pockets deep enough...
