Past Parts

PostPost by: Peter +2 » Mon Jun 23, 2014 9:47 pm

I thought I would share pictures of my early Girling brake servo which has just been returned by Past Parts.
It wasn't necessarily the cheapest option and i do not know if it works yet, but to me it does look very pretty.

That looks very good Peter. Standards have risen so much in the past 10 years or so, and now it's the norm for the top guys to supply items to show standard.

It's good to see that they've plated the right parts the right colour plating, and painted the right parts in satin black, not gloss as many have done in the past.

I need one doing, and I'm looking up 'Past Parts' on Google!

No pictures show up on my PC and although Google seems to know about PastParts the website does not seem to be available.

Is it just me?

Hi Peter, what did they charge you for the rebuild & how bad a condition was the servo in when you sent it to them?

Keith;

Mechanically the servo was not working as the vacuum chamber was full of fluid and had been standing for at least ten years when the car was last on the road. Visually it was a mess having been painted gold and rusty. The cost was GBP250.
