Hi All,
finally resolved the windscreen problem. Just got the Elan back from National Windscreens in Poole today, who did a terrific job. See pics attached. They even put a nice new butyl strip on the inside of the screen, looks really neat now.
One thing to note though, they did have an awful time trying to fit the trim. We got the trim From Paul Matty, but the profile of the trim is curved and the corner pieces are designed to take the original bevel edge profile. This means is does not actually fit that well. Also the trim does not have a deep enough channel for the glass to sit in, when the trim is fitted to the glass it tends to pop out when set into the windscreen aperture. This was overcome by bonding the trim onto the glass before fitting it in.We tried to get some different trim from Sue Miller, but she said she does not supply the trim any longer. Worth noting!
