Cars and Coffee - Sydney Style

PostPost by: Rozzer » Wed Apr 09, 2014 7:24 am

Afternoon all

Cars and Coffee has arrived in sunny Sydney - except it did rain a bit (and then a good deal more!).

They started back in February this year, and by this month, when I finally worked out what was going on, there was a good showing - upwards of 100 cars of all sorts and shapes (as you will see below).

I'm pleased to say that Lotus, with seven cars, was the best represented single marque (seven cars), albiet definitely not occupying the largest real estate - that was reserved for the McLaren, Ferraris, Lambos and the Huge Impala two doors down from me :)

Any Sydney-siders who fancy coming along, these meets take place the First Sunday of the month at Cavellino's at the junction of Mona Vale Road and McCarrs Creek Road in Terrey Hills.

Hi Ashton, I'd heard it was a big this month regardless of rain as last! I'll be up there on the first sunday of May. Lido's a long time friend and there's a groups mates who help coordinate the access, parking etc. He's got a peoples choice going, where owners can elect to park in the inner car park and the public cast their vote on most popular car.

Lido has already reached out the creators of the concept in US and extended an open invite to any of you who happen to be in Sydney when one falls to get in contact and we will coordinate someone to collect and show you some Sydney side hospitality and scene.

Hope to se more of the Sydney Lotus owners over coming month, spread the news, and if any of the OS members are in Sydney, please reach out to me.

Ashton, if the dates were published in the Club Lotus Australia calendar then the clubs historic plated cars could use it as a regular run.....

Cheers

V

Hi Vaughan

The Cars and Coffee is gazetted in the CLA calendar as of last month! So all comers most welcome - I will be there in May again - somehow I blagged space in the "inner sanctum" last time, but I doubt I'll be so lucky next time around!

Hopefully see a few more of you there, and as Vaughan says, any interstaters or international travellers who would like a lift there, just reach out!

It's coming round to that time of the month again...

I missed this last month as it clashed with a Supersprint at Eastern Creek, but no such issues this coming weekend, so I hope to see some of you up there bright eyed and bushy tailed on sunday morning :)

As a reminder, this is an open event for all comers, and a great chance to get your H plated car out, particularly as we have gazetted the event on the CLA calendar, so you don't even have to write to Maurice for permission!

It's at Cavellino's at the junction of Mona Vale Road and McCarrs Creek Road in Terrey Hills starting at about 8am on Sunday morning....

See you there I hope.....

Well, another astonishing turnout of varied and unusual cars today; sadly, only one other H plated Lotus - an Elite (Nick), and of course Vaughan was present keeping the HWP in order - thanks mate!!

Great turnout of some more modern Lotuses, and lots of other Historic registered cars - two Dinos, a couple of original Arbath 500's, lots of american muscle (sorry, I don't know much about them!) and all sorts in between - you should dust off the car next month!
