I know it's not an Elan but it was still cool to see this early Seven.
This 1962 Lotus Seven experienced its maiden voyage today after sitting for over 30 years in storage in a Southern California garage. Gregg, the current owner purchased the car from the original owner in boxes four years ago. He?s taken his time reassembling the car and making small updates when required such as new brakes and hydraulics. Taking great care not to loose the original charm and character, Gregg has chosen to keep the blue paint applied by the original owner that covers the factory applied yellow paint and bare alloy panels. The car is powered by a 997 BMC with twin SU carburetors. Lotus SB1233 is a real treasure and a view back in time to what sports cars were about in the 1960?s

Beautiful! Much like Mike Ostrov's 7A.

Any chance the owner can find a retro-period black/yellow license plate?

He has the original black and yellow plates and is working with the DMV to have them reassigned to the car.

Ken,

Love seeing cars like this. For a very brief second I thought you were talking about my friend Greg who has '65 7 (LA Area) he purchased in pieces from Peter Egan 35 years ago. The car has never been completed, but is extremely close. He will not sell it, and I've asked too many times over the decades. Time to ask one more time I think. I just want to see it on the street again like this one again.

The original black plates have been reunited with my car. As you can see, they are a perfect match!
