We are once again looking for Classic cars for hire for filming on the production of the ?Antiques Road Trip? and the ?Celebrity Antiques Road Trip? 2014.

Wheel2Reel Ltd our company based in Hertfordshire supplies Action vehicles for TV and Film.
We have been commissioned to work on the seventh and eighth TV series of the ?Antiques Road Trip? and the ?Celebrity Antiques Road Trip? which are showing now on BBC 1.
This is our forth year of supplying vehicles for this programme and we are looking for a total of 32 classic convertibles.
They must be fully road legal being MOT certificated with tax and being in a presentable condition complete with hoods.

For the ?Antiques Road Trip? it would entail hiring your vehicle for a period of 15 days filming which is spread over a period of two months to accommodate the Auctions for the series.
We will pay ?70.00 per day for the 15 days filming.
The vehicles are driven by the ?Expert Presenters? whilst filming and are transported to and from locations on a low loader.

On the ?Celebrity Antiques Road Trip? your vehicle would be used for three days filming. This is broken up into two days of buying antiques and one day at an Auction.
Two of these days will be consecutive but the Auction date could be up to two weeks later.
We will pay ?70.00 per day for the 3 days filming.
Your vehicle would be collected and transported by us to the locations and the vehicle would be driven by a ?Celebrity? and one of the ?Expert Presenters?.
Whilst on set your vehicle will be looked after by our vehicle technician at all times.

We are fully covered by insurance for the collection and transportation of all vehicles whilst in our possession.
Scottish Television who produce this series on behalf of the BBC are fully insured for their ?Expert presenters? and ?celebrities? whilst in their care.

Matt, without wishing to try to teach you your job, have you considered having the owners drive the cars with the presenter or celebrity in the pax seat? I would expect you would get a greater uptake and interest. Baz Luhrmann when filming The Great Gatsby asked a great friend for the use of his Bentley Speed Six, and the condition (of the insurance company admittedly) was that my friend had to drive it - so BL got him kitted up in the period dress and he got to drive his car on the set - much more fun!! And if you have seen the film, he wasn't the only one!

Let the celebrities buy their own Classic cars. (unless it is Diana Rigg) they can presumably afford one.

Let each "Expert Presenter" show how expert they really are by doing one of the following tasks:
1. removing the rear suspension and diff of an Elan and putting it all back together properly or
2. by fitting a new cluch plate or
3. replacing the window lift hawser.


"Expert PRESENTER" means expert at presenting not expert at Classic Cars, n'est pa?

I assume you don't watch these programmes Bill?

The experts are antiques experts not classic car experts. The gist is to buy antiques and sell at a profit, all profit going to Children in Need.

The use of classic transport is just to give another little feature of interest.

Nor mine ! My car might not be the greatest example in the world but from what I've seen of some of the driving skills it would be little better than throwing the keys into the local pub and letting anyone have a go.

Given that it costs over ?250 to hire an Elise S1, which is a more common and cheaper Lotus, that ?70 is beginning to look very cheapskate if you're hoping to get a ?20k-?30k car. Perhaps that explains why whenever I've watched the programme they have cars breaking down and the presenters moving around in taxis or modern cars ?

Incidentally, I forget which one, but one of the trade experts is a classic car fan and last year he used his own classic (MG ?) to ferry himself & celeb. about.

Well someone was persuaded........this week features a yellow Elan Plus 2 Convertible.......with the number plate obscured throughout.

BBC 1 4.30pm daily.

Well I happened to be at home on my own so I watched it!
It looked to be a nice early yellow Elan +2 cabriolet so someone is now a miilionaire .........not!

i like your comment bill, but you're definately leaning too far out of the window. ...................... i just replaced the useless release bearing ...................and "emptied" the collected dust within the pressure plate surface/....fingers.
let us have them remove both carbs within 5min ------------- just a simple task cheers sandy

?70 a day? Are they having a laugh..... ?300 a day plus expenses is more realistic for a car that can be valued in excess of ?40,000.
?1500 per week is the going rate for film work.

Bill's car would no doubt benefit from the work he describes, I hope you make it a condition of hire Mr Williams!
