Alex, I've just come across this and I'm genuinely shocked. I can't believe I missed it back in January and it's taken me a while before I could think of what to say. At least I've come to it at what seems to be a good part - and long may things continue to improve. Makes all my little niggles pale into insignificance. My best wishes and I'm sure you'll be on top of it all soon - you look like a tough old b*gger to me.

I hope all goes well for you Alex.

Unfortunately things aren't going so well for me.

I've had the radiotherapy and I'm still on the 3 monthly hormone injections.

I have also had a 4 weekly infusion of zometa for the last couple of years - plus goodness knows how many pills.

And 6 weeks ago I started a course of chemo which will last through to October.

The oncologist said the chemo has a 50/50 chance of doing me any good.

Hopefully it will keep me going for another couple of years.

Good to hear you are on the mend Alex!

I had to chuckle at the start of your message though, at first I wondered if you were referring to your continued urinary infection, then I realised you were Scottish speaking

All the best

Hi Guys,

latest.....

About to have the second three monthly Hormone injection and the radio therp starts about the end July. Some prelims 1st to go through but all in all I think I am doing ok. The Hot Flushes are not nice at all but that's about it really. My Mrs says she knows how I feel.. I should hope so after nearly 45 years of marriage!! LOL...

The UTI is still being treated with an anti bio which I Take nightly and that seems to be holding things at bay. The radio therp' I am not looking forward to but need must. This will continue until mid' September. 5 days per week for 7.5 weeks. One of the prelims is having gold seed 'targets' inserted. Kinda similar to the biopsy which gave me the e coli just before xmas and had me in Hospital for near on a week on antibio drip.. Hopefully it will go a bit better this time and the antibios will prevent a repeat of the E Coli infection..

So it looks to be going to plan and consultant says I am one of his easier patient to treat so here's hoping.

I do hope my fellow sufferers are doing OK. Recent annon has my heart right now and I am constantly thinking of him and the others who have PM'd me. We just need to hang in there and get on with fighting this awful disease.

Keep you posted guys..

The Elan is running superbly by the way. The weather on the other hand is preventing it's more regular use.

Take care!

Keep up the good fight Alex.

I did find this an interesting read recently:

http://drleonardcoldwell.com/2013/11/01/stage-4-cancer-gone-with-baking-soda-treatment/comment-page-1/

Probably hokum (it's on the internet after all), but interesting non-the-less

Very best wishes
