Some news. Not good!

Alex,

GrUmPyBoDgEr is correct. While I was receiving radiation treatments this past year for my Prostrate Cancer, the hospital provided Cranberry Juice free and recommended I drink some everyday. I like it and I'm still drinking it today. Now the whiskey is for later in the evening out by the patio fire pit occasionally with a good cigar. Vodka works very well with the Canberry Juice, ................strictly for medicinal purposes only of course!!!!

I had an MRI scan of my head today. Weird experience, but not at all painfull.

My ENT Consultant want to see if there is any physical reason why my hearing has deteriorated badly above 1,500 Herz and below about 100 Hertz. I can hear fine in the middle frequencies.

I think it's just plain old age myself :)

I'm wondering if I can get a copy of the scanner data file to make 3D models of my head.

Hi Alex,

I just noticed this thread and read every entry. I wish you the very best for a controlled prognosis, a return to full health and many a long twisty road on which to use your wee Lotus for many years. I'd like to send you a little light reading material, my Road Trip book. Can you send me your postal address to ross at homebuildercoach dot com please and I shall send it straightaway. It really is just diversion, light fluff if you will, but it is stories of some of my road trips in my various Lotus cars and can set the stage for your stories in years to come. Cheers and good health :D

Alex

Just got back on the Forum after being away myself for some 10 months but my reason seems rather silly now compared to what you are going through! Just did a quick search on the Forum to find you and so shocked to hear all this news.

Having met you and your lovely wife, Carol. I know you are a fighter and you will be up for the fight too. So, all the very best mate, you are in my thoughts. You lavished all that care and attention on your Elan you just need to do a bit of the same to yourself now.

Best wishes AB

Thanks Guys... I'm hanging in there..

Sorry to hear of your trials and tribs Ian.. Good to hear you are sorted though. Now .. Get on with that Elan...

Hi Ross. I look forward to reading your road trip book .. Many thanks!

Address .... 13 Haldane Grove, Comrie. Fife. KY12 9XB...

Me being me and hugely disliking the way the fuel tank sender fixing screws holes are not blind drilled & tapped, I hauled the tank out again after sourcing some blind ended m4 rivnuts with small CSK heads. So the tank now has less ways to leak! .... New gasket again too.

I was convinced I could still smell petrol so here's hoping.

Hi Guys,

Some better news for a change.

The scans are all clear.. very happy to have had that bit of news this morning from my specialist nurse from Prostate Cancer UK. She is an Angel. Didn't half cheer Carol and I up this morning. I would be just fine for now if I could get the waterworks to work a bit better. 1hr max between p's at the moment, sometimes a lot less, and very uncomfortable with it. I had to be put back onto the antibiotic tab's today. Noticed a day or two after finishing the previous course that the burning and frequency problems were returning. Very uncomfortable. Any tips to help here guys?

Hey Ross.

I am really enjoying the book my friend.... 'You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel' ....  Brilliant. Many thanks for the very kind gift. I noted you enjoyed the Le Mans Classic. We went in 2010 and hope to return again this year...

See you there?

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful kind words of support etc..

Alex... :D

Pissing razor blades isn't fun but I suppose you can live with that in the knowledge that your course of anti-biotics will clear it up.
That is indeed top news.
Have I understood all of this correctly Alex?
Your Doctors have told you that you don't have Prostate cancer?

Such great news Alex, too be honest I've been frightened to post as I had symptoms at Christmas and then looked at lotuselan.net for a spot of relief and saw your initial post.
I had an ultrasound and tests and the doctor is happy (only this morning) its just BPH so currently taking Tamsulosin (from the doctor) and also Saw Palmetto (from the internet :) ) It seems to be OK now. I do think the Saw Palmetto works. And ..... I'm not even 50 yet!
I cannot understand why us men don't have an ultra sound every few years (just like a woman's smear test) it was quick and relatively painless
All the best to everyone
