Alex,

I see from your notes things are moving along in a positive manner. Keep it up my friend. Just an FYI, my last PSA test number a few weeks ago was 0.8. On it's way to zero. Hurrah! Now if my Elan would go together as fast as some diseases spread I'd be all set. I can't wait to drive it again.

Hi Guys...

Thank you all so much for the fine words of encouragement.. I think I am doing quite well.

Yes, all is going to plan. I've now had the second three monthly hormone injection and at the same time I had a blood test for PSA and the result gave the figure also at .8 !! Brill. On its way to zero hopefully although over here they only measure to .1 I am told.

So all in all very positive. Today I had the last CT scan before the radiotherapy starts on the 28th of this month. So I now have three small tattoos to my name. Hopeful that the radiotherapy will kill its ass.. Every day, 5 days a week until early Sept'. Sounds like fun....!

Good luck to all my fellow sufferers. I do wish you well.

Frank.. Get on with it man!! lol ... Thanks Bud.

Hi Alex
I've been off the board for some time now due to some health issues, but am about to restart my Plus 2 restro and was shocked to hear about your cancer. Hopefully you've caught it early enough, and it can be treated. Please accept my best wishes and hope that all goes well.
Matt

Hi Alex, I'm new to the board so we haven't had the opportunity to converse before, but I wanted to convey best wishes for a full recovery. My Father went through the radiotherapy course of treatment earlier this year. While going through the treatment there weren't any bad side effects, he was just a bit tired for 2 or 3 weeks after the treatment was completed but recovered well. A couple of his friends had a similar experience with the treatment, and all are doing well. Hoping your experience will be similar.

Many thanks Guys. I do appreciate the kind and encouraging words. Very uplifting indeed..

An Update for you.

I recently had my second three monthly Hormone injection and at the same time my (fantastic) specialist nurses
took some blood for a psa test. I then promptly put this at the back of my mind!! And forgot all about it but a few days later I received a letter telling me the results. :D My PSA was '' dramatically lower'' at 0.8 and the nurse said this indicated an excellent response to my treatment and was the very best of news.

So happy days again ... My Radio therp' starts on the 28th of July..

Carol and I are currently galavanting around in the motorhome again and have been down in the Norfolk broads area. Took part in a local classic show with the Vespa and stayed at an ''Ayre'' (foc Motorhome stopover) in Wroxam, the capital of the broads. and what a great place that is.... Very restful.

Couple of pic's for you.... Note the new custom built trailer for the Elan. Works a treat!

Another update,

last PSA was 0.8. Now on week six of the RT with 11 sessions to go. This Thursday I will be down to single figures and can report no real side effects so far. Very tired though.

So after thr RT finishes I have the next Hormone jab before 3 months off. Then after three months the follow ups start with the next PSA check etc..

All looking fairly good. The 0.8 psa last time shows a very good reaction to the treatment. Now hoping the RT has finished it off for good...

Off up to Gantown on Spey with the Motorhome and Elan on it's trailer. Staying Friday and sat nights with the show on the Sunday.. have to return home Sunday as I have the last of the RT sessions to tidy up.... :|

Take car all...

PS.... Mate Wullie now has all the parts for his motor rebuild. he had to bite the bullet and buy some new parts as required.. (I advised!) New followers for EG. And the block is being sleeved back to st'd....

Al' ...

Cheers Tim / Rob.....

Week six almost at an end already... Still feeling quite well too. No major side effects.

After the RT finishes I will have three months of freedom. Happy days.

Busy looking to see where we can head off to with the Motorhome.

Thanks all...

Blimey Ed! I do hope all pans out well bud,,,

I now have only two days treatment to go now. Finish next Tuesday (Clinic visit day too) then my next injection on the 18th and I am good to go. They dont want to see me for three months. We will hang around for a few weeks 'chillaxing' to make sure no nasty side effects show up (none so far) and if all is ok we want to get away for 4 - 6 weeks with the MH...

France sounds good.

Thanks to everybody for their kind words...
