Passenger seat full forward, drivers seat as far forward as sensible for me. Gutted, not my next daily :(

Took Yelotus to a local vintage & exotics cruise-in, parked next to Famous Frank's S2 and Greg Z's FHC.

All cars look well-maintained. You are lucky that you come across them and managed to get these beautiful images.

Well today I fitted a traffic cam - the neatest smallest high quality tiny thing from Garmin. Smaller than my thumb, talks to my telephone with great quality pictures and sound if you want it. D.

Nope, a lot more serious (and dangerous) than that, likely need a close look/zoom (at the caliper mounts).

Looks like a crack along the lug to me. Also, probably welded as pharriso points out. Then again, they don’t necessarily look straight either.
Good thing you noticed, suppose finding a used one wont be so cheap.

Correct and not very well done at that, but in this case not the most concerning issue.

That's it. I knew about the not that well welded up lugs but the crack was new to me.

Luckily as I knew about the bad repair (but not crack) I've already picked up a NOS one up from a member here for a reasonable price a year or too back. Which I was planning to fit as part of my rear end rebuild I am doing.

The original issue I believe was a failed donut and minimal/poor repair of the damage. So also some fiber glass and chassis repairs to do while I am at it.

Hmm... I just acquired a pair of rear uprights that came off a Sprint. They are grimey, so better give 'em a clean to make sure I am not in the same boat...
Thanks for your post - I probably would not have been planning to be so diligent otherwise... :(

More likely dodged a ditch, lamp post or tree :D

It's worth cleaning them and checking but my crack was caused by a previous poor repair of the caliper mounts after I guess the caliper was ripped off by a donut failure. It is very unlikely your upright will have a issue.
