Wow is in order!
I actually also have a BDG that I had built to fit into my elan. Figured the poor car couldn't take that HP and then opted for a 1700 QED SS engine.
Ended up getting a MK1 to fit the BDG.
Interested in the spec of your car, you should open a new post to discuss. I would have lots of questions on the build I chickened out on!

After finding that the clip/shaft/housing didn't line up I phoned Dave Bean-"Don't worry about it!" he said, " just leave the clip out" and I did... No problem yet.

There were four; 2 DHCs, 2 FHCs, one of each being LHD.
