Recent Outages

We experienced a 4 hour outage today. The cause was mine and Bing's.

The Bing search engine decided today was the day to catch up indexing the website. In a 2 hour period, Bing requested over 2800 pages from the website. This caused the website to be placed in a stress mode.

This stress caused a coding error on my part to bring the website down. Because of the issues, I was able to identify where the bug was and fix it.

I have also instructed bing to slow down their request to no more than a page every 5 seconds.

We will see if this resolves the issue and allow us to return to our normally scheduled programs.
