How they would compare would all depend on a lot of factors they don't talk about. What tyres were they both running, what revs was the DFV limited to, how much experience did the drivers have in the respective cars. They did say that the gear ratios for the 49 were too low..
The outcome looks about right for a conservatively driven 36 year old F1 car on historic racing tyres versus a hard driven new Z1 on sticky modern rubber.
But always nice to see a 49 on the track.

Running a full race distance of 200 miles or 2 hours would be a more realistic test. I would expect the 49 to lap the ZR-1 at least twice.
Still an interesting comparison though.

One thing people should not forget!!!
The 1967 spec Lotus 49 was in its infancy in terms of development, these cars competing and winning for three seasons in updated form not to mention aerodynamics!!!! Also 3 secons differential in lap times is light years!!
