2013 West Coast Lotus Meet - July 4-7 - Seattle, Washington

PostPost by: garyeanderson » Sun Dec 30, 2012 12:34 am

Looks like a nice event and a lot of fun. The roads are great out there and the scenery is tough to beat. One of my favorite locations to get lost in the Elan. I've been out there a couple times just to enjoy some roads I'd never driven before. Anyhow I figured I would post the event, anyone going?

Hi Stu

I got the info from the Cortina mailing list and thought it should be posted here as well. Looks like a good event and like I said, I love the scenery out in the North West. I hope a lot of folks make it and everyone enjoys themselves.

I'm planning on going as of now. Saw this on GGLC a month or so ago. A good alternative to LOG, since it's rare that they are on the West Coast. One of several trips planned if all goes well this year. Planning on the Sonoma Historic Motorsports festival in May, Monterey Motorsports Reunion in August. If I can swing it, I plan on the attending part of the Bonneville Speed Week just before Monterey. Also have a few others events planned, but may not have the time. My work schedule is not good and the last few years I've spent way too much time working on the house ,so this is the year to plan some car weekends, and make sure they happen. I also plan on driving the Elan to as many of these as possible (weather permitting).

Happy New Year!

Doug Jackson is chairing the 2013 WCLM. Doug is also the Chairman of the host club, the Evergreen Lotus Car Club.

Doug has put together what will be a spectacular 4 day (or longer) event. The opportunity to see and have a private dinner at the LeMay Museum is almost worth the trip! But when you mix in Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection, a day at the Pacific Northwest Historic Races, the WCLM Autocross, 3 different scenic drives and more dinners, lunches and BarBQues you've got and epic event!

Registration just opened. The regular registration fee is $300 per person, but if you register before March 4th you can save $50 and if you're a member of a Lotus club (or guest of a member) you can get another $25 off, reducing the registration fee to $225!

P.S. There is a WCLM Lotus Track Day run by ProFormance Racing School at Pacific Raceways on July 4th. It is an optional event that is designed for both newbies and experienced on-track drivers.

BUMP

A bit of 2013 WCLM news.

We've extended the Early Bird discount to March 18th. Register before that date and save!

Also, we recommend calling the Red Lion Inn in Bellevue WA and reserving a room. Room reservations seem to going rapidly. The WCLM rate is only $100/night. Be sure to mention the WCLM when you call them. And, if you're interested in arriving early or extending your stay the Red Lion will honor the WCLM rate for 3 days prior and 3 days after the WCLM!

See you in Seattle in July!!!

Kiyoshi, just registered for the event and room at the Red Lion, so good to go!

A heads up for others. The Pacific Raceways Track Day is set up for Thursday, July 4th. it is separate registration. I registered today, and Don from ProFormance called me back. So far we need more cars to get the numbers up, so please consider getting registration in early so they get their car count results.

Another thing that might be of interest. I also registered with ProFormance on Wednesday, July 3rd. They have a school booked for that day, and it is on for sure. This will give me some instructor time on Pacific Raceway ahead of the Lotus Meet event, so hopefully should be able to solo on the 4th. :) This could be a great idea if you are coming as a couple, and one person wants to take the full school on Wednesday. Their school track car fleet includes Mini Cooper S' and Elise'. 8)

PM me if you want Don's cell number to find out about the school, or sign up on-line and he will probably call you back.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
