The favourite Photo of your Elan?

PostPost by: kieran9990 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:05 pm

Hi all,

finally moved my dads old S4 SE DHC into my garage to begin the strip down after its 30 year sleep. After standing looking at her ( with a nice cup of tea ) I was looking at the cars shape and its curves and wondered what other elan owners favourite picture of their cars are???

Changing the subject back to my elan. cleared out my dads shed and found the original elan seats in pretty good condition, the original strombergs and cyclinder head, a set of dellortos and a unmarked hardtop.

Not a bad days work :D

Just in time for Christmas, no less. Finding the head, if you didn't think you had one, is quite the gift.

Best of luck to you on this project,

Dave

BTW, my favorite shot has to be the one coming up when I've finally got it back on the road after a quarter century. After that, it'd have to be my avatar photo.

There are two for me which are attached. The biggest difference is that the wheels differ from one pic to the other. These pics then raise a question - should I put the chrome dress rims (I believe some of you call them "embellishers") back on or leave them off? Once they're on, one is committed as they scratch the $%^& out of your rims which then look crap if you do take the rings off...

Opinions?

Hi Mike. Nice looking +2 you have there!

I'm about 3 miles from Donington Park in Derbyshire so pretty central.

Had this one posted about 1.5 years ago, but I think it is worthwile to be posted again.

P.S.: The typical fuel leakage problem has been resolved in the meantime with a Triumph-sourced piece of rubber grommet.

Diarama has two meanings- it is either something you can be on the horns of; or it is that bloke with specs in Tibet.

Cue corrective posts from across the Atlantic.
