Holy Toledo, I have nightmares about having a meeting with a 4WD....but that fibreglass absorbs a lot of energy. A horrific accident but sounds like the driver was very lucky. McCarrs Creek Rd is a dark, sweeping bend sort of place. Not a place you want to be one a night with heavy rain. No-one I know by the way.

Looks like quite an impact the car looks to be a write off
Have had experience of crashing a +2 in heavy rain in NZ due to brake lock up hit a fence and lost the front end body work
Not a car I have seen in Sydney hope the driver is okay

Looks a nasty offside to offside head on collision at reasonable speed. No picture of the jeep, but I assume it was a Suzuki or something similar. As the Jeep overturned it would be reasonable to think that the +2 submarined under the Jeep and took the lions share of the impact on the engine, causing the compression injuries when it all moved South. The story states the unlucky driver had 2 broken arms, 2 broken legs and internal injuries and was still critical. If you get any more news Gordon, please let us know.
Best regards to all and safe driving.
