A reminder that the Tasman is on in just over a week at Eastern Creek, I understand we are looking a few short of the needed Elan numbers for the parade so if yours is nearly/almost there it would help if you can make it no matter if you drive it or trailer it.
Hope to see you all there...

G'Day Gordon.
Sadly I wont be there with my S2, we are just in the middle of doing the upholstery,
and as you know that takes time... But, would love to be there to catch up
with so many other OZ elan owners.
I just checked out the entry list, and there is a terrific collection of race cars
entered.
Hope it all goes well.

We have 25 cars so far, 19 open Elans of all ages to carry the Tasman drivers and legends including Ron Tauranac, and period Lotus importer and driver Leo Geoghan, Niel Allen and Fred Gibson all who drove 26R elans in period. My 26R S2 40 wil turn its wheels for first time in 8 years following complete rebuild to its original spec, asides of some trim details as we ran out of time.
There are Lotus owners who have brought from Japan, Us and i think UK
Marc Schagen's book covering all things Lotus that raced in Australia will be launched, im lucky enough to have 2 of my cars feature. If anyones after a copy drop me a pm and i will forward Marc's details.

The Tasman Revival event in now underway at Eastern Creek Race in Sydney, with over 300 entries and competitors form all over the world it is a fitting location for the Elan's to be chosen to provide transport for the Tasman Drivers & Legends Parade on Sunday and for Club Lotus Australia to celebrate the 50th Birthday of the Elan, we have 25 cars attending and still trying to find the elusive 26th...
A number of the Tasman Legends were very rapid drivers of Elan and 26R;'s in their heyday including Fred Gibson, Neil Allen, Doug MacArthur, the Geoghegan's (also the Lotus Importers)
The earliest Elan in Australia delivered in 1963 is present and in fine form, all being well we have representatives of all models including the M100's.
Photo's will be posted in the coming days.
Cheers

Finally (after a reminder this morning that I still had not posted pics) some photos of the day.
I am sure someone will correct me but I think 26 elans there on teh day including S1, 2, 3, 4, sprint and a 26R.
A sedate couple of laps around eatern creek with some old racing greats, I was advised by my passenger (big Kevin Bartlett) that overtaking was not allowed
A good, though very hot day.

Hi Gordon
Looks like it was a great day to enjoy a little bit of every kind of Elan. Lots of colors and different series, a true plethora of Elans.
