Elan Engine Bays - stock, modified, restored, and 26r

Rod Little asked about how the early type 26 engine bays were painted. I posted a couple of pictures of some early Elan engine bays and I ran across a few others. Not many are my photos, most are off this forum or ebay or anywhere else I have seen an open Elan engine bay. If you see a photo of your Elan and do not want it here ask me to remove it and I will. Likewise if you took the photos and don't want them posted please tell me and they will be removed. I did a bit more looking and found a bunch more so after 2 hours I gave up and uploaded what I had. I guess I could have found some more
(I looked this morning "9-16-10" and found another 43 that have been uploaded, I will post them over the next couple of days) but I was lazy again and didn't wan't to take all morning so for now these will have to do. I may put unit numbers on each photo (if I know them) some time and reorganize them in order but for now I need another coffee and get rid of the first. I should be able to find another 25, maybe if I look hard enough, I am sure that others have some too. I would think we can get most every color and type. Have fun and be safe.

Gary

Here are a few more engine bay pictures. Like I said, the photos are not all ones (hardly any were taken by me) that I took, they are ones that have been harvested over the years on this forum and other locations. Many are off of ebay and other sites that have listed Elan's for sale. if you see any of your pictures and do not feel they belong, let me know and I will remove the photo. I hope that people find the harvest interesting and will add to it just as Pete, George and Jim have done. There may be some duplicate engine bays but I don't think that there are any of the same photo. Have fun, I try too.

Hi Guys
I want to thank George, Jim, Pete and Brian for adding a bit to my mono-collage of engine bays. I guess I must be a bit demented to keep adding these similar views with slightly altered accents. Some are a stretch to be called engine bays but if the bonnet was off and you can see some of the non-body color than I tossed into a folder to be uploaded. There are 15 more after this batch, this has almost enough different cars to be the start of an engine bay registry. I don't know what all of the unit numbers are or who owns them all but they still give folks a chance to see different color combinations with subtle variations all in one place. Like I said in the first two of my posts if any of these are your pictures and you want them to be removed, please let me know and that will happen. I hope you enjoy these photos or at least find them interesting to see and look at. More later.

I always seem to think more is better. I guess thats the story of my life. Thank you Mark and Mike for adding to my madness. I think that this is the end of my mass postings, I guess that its probably better to get the majority on the first page. So here is the last few that I have culled off the hard drive, there are others and I may dig them out at some point but this topic seems to be nearly done. Again, these are not my photos, they are ripped off the Internet. If you see a picture that is your and want it removed let me know and it will be gone.

Hi gary, would you have any pictures of an original unmolested S2 26R? I think the B&W shot near top is S1.
