Boy, talk about memories. That was my photo from 1971. Thanks for reminding me of a fabulous visit across the pond. I spent 5 weeks driving all around England, Scotland and Wales. My wife and I even got a private tour of the factory in Hethel.

' Beers were selected by gear lever: 1st - Worthington E, 2nd Charringtons Bitter, 3rd - Lager (Carling Black Label, if memory serves, and 4th - Guinness'

If you didn't serve Burton Ale it wasn't a proper pub Mik. My second fovorite ale, the first being ESB, by Fullers. You could stand you're spoon up in that stuff. Happy days.

Unfortunately it was a tied house, so we could only sell what Charringtons would let us sell - including Hirondelle wine (the favourite of the budget wine elite in the 70s, apparently - tho nobody knew what grape it came from!).Whilst still a Londoner I used to drink ESB, or the odd pint of Youngs....
