UK Club Scene?

As I'm about to embark on +2 ownership I was wondering what clubs are available in the Midlands, UK. I can see that there's a Club Lotus meeting near to Alcester in the Midlands but their website doesn't give any indication of the type of cars that turn up. I'm a little nervous as mine will be a full Spyder +2 and I'm not sure how well received it would be.
Also, it might be nice to turn up with a name or two from here (if possible) and knowing whether I absolutely *had* to officially join the club before anyone would talk to me.

Alcester meeting is a joint Club Lotus and Lotus Driver's Club (LDC) meeting. There's a core group of people who turn up and there's a wide variety of cars too. Europas, Plus 2s, Elans, Elises, Esprits and Exiges and a few of these are very modified.
No checks on membership, in fact Mike Stripe (LDC Chairman) encourages non-members to turn up and take part. They usually organise a speaker, or some sort of event and its very relaxed. If you let me know when you're going, I'll do my best to get along to say hello.
Other sources of Lotus/Midlands based sociability.
MLOC - www.mloc.net - often organise runs and get togethers in the Midlands
SELOC - http://www.seloc.org/ - Lots of Lotus related activity all over the UK
Look forward to seeing you out and about.
