Insurance Costs

PostPost by: GrUmPyBoDgEr » Tue Sep 09, 2008 8:46 am

Hi there,

I've just had a renewal notice through for my S4 Elan with Zetec engine.
Fully Comp. & unlimited mileage (they won't offer me a limited mileage insurance)
It's going to cost me 396.30 pounds for the next year.
I'd like to know if there's anyone else out there with Zetec power & how much they are paying.

Cheers
John

John that seems really expensive i pay less than ?300 for a 5 litre griffith is the car based in Germany perhaps you are paying a premium for modified car & is it RHD. I use Hagerty at silverstone & they do a multi car policy also. Dont have number to hand but comes up on google.

Hi Ian,

well errm, not officially; everything runs through my GB address.
Yes it is RHD.
A bit of a problem overtaking the "Sunday drivers" on the "B roads" though; especially when the grass has grown high or "the corn is so high as an Elephants eye"!
The MOT's a bit of a bugger also, ever since the testing stations have had to go on line.
Imprisonment for breaking the rules as far as I understand
MOT every 12 months is a bit OTT , IMHO
Even "in the Fatherland" with all of it's rules & regulations it's every 2 years. Which 'aint so bad. (Rip off Britain?)

I'll Google that address & see what it comes up with; ta very much.

I'd still be interested to hear from "Zetec engined" Elan owners, to find out how much they have to pay for insurance.
Come on Guys don't be shy

Cheers
John

PS It's good to be back on board :D :D :D :D

Oh yes,
now that's closer to reality :D
5K is fine I don't think my car has done that much in the past 4 years
Can you give me the details please?
PM me if you feel it more appropriate.

Thanks a lot
John

Hi niallf,

I'd be grateful to you if you would let me know which company insures your Zetec +2.
5K mileage limit is no problem for me & our car Spec's are so close together that I should also expect to pay the same premium.

Thanks in advance
John
