What did you do to your Lotus today...
Not to, but for my Lotus - picked up an 07 LR3 as a tow vehicle and partial DD. This will replace my F250 - a great truck that served its purpose, but I really don't need that much towing capacity any longer and wanted something more comfortable for my bride when we tow long distances. This has about 130k miles (almost 100k fewer than my 2010 F250) and, hopefully, is nearing the bottom of its depreciation cycle. Will need to do a little work on it, but fortunately there is an active owner network and you can still do a good bit of the work on these in a home garage - and we have a solid local independent specialist for those things I can't do. Any others with and LR3 with any tips/experiences?

The Land Rover Discovery achieves just a one-star rating for reliability, presenting owners with a fairly extensive list of faults in the 12 months prior to our latest survey.
Almost 50% of those who gave us feedback on their vehicles saw issues, ranging from engine and transmission faults to fuel system problems. On top of that, 10% experienced a vehicle breakdown, leaving little reason to recommend it.

Ha! To be sure, the early Discoverys did have more issues than typical, but the v8 3 has been considered pretty reliable. Will see over time, but talking with LR owners they sound a lot like Lotus owners when they say "there are 2 types of people, those who think LRs are unreliable breakdowns waiting to happen and those who own LRs."
Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping not to eat crow, but the history on this one is reasonably solid, as is current condition - and as a Lotus owner I'm not unfamiliar with maintenance and upkeep.

Good luck!! I am a long time Landrover fan having had them in the 60s and 70s. I have an acquaintance who got a new Ranger Rover with all the bells and whistles just before last Christmas and it had so many faults LR gave up and gave him another new one!! On the Which list Jaguar Landrover come 29th!! I cannot think of 29 car makes, and yes you guessed it Lexus and Honda and Toyota are the top three! I now have a Lexus as my foil to the Elan!! D

I was removing one of the sill members and upon opening the access panel in the front wheel well I found a large wasp nest, which thankfully had been abandoned long before I bought the car.

Some would be willing to pay big money for honeycomb structures, and you just removed that out of your car! Last night I was chasing why the engine is not running on all cylinders. After finding nothing wrong with the carbs I put the spark plugs on top of the engine and cranked it with the lights out, and found one of them is not working. The insulation has broken down. So today I'm hopeful that the lawnmower plugs from Halfords will work - BPR6ES. I have a set of BP6ES on the way too. Fingers crossed...

I refurbished my main lamp switch!
I scrapped the head lamp and flasher use of the switch fifty years ago and repurposed it as a reversing lamp control then rear fog lamp (when I grafted a switch on the gearbox) but it became unreliable some years ago and so did the side/parking lamp section recently. Dismantling required some metal bending to separate the toggle from the connectors and apart from the contact patches only the "headlamp" copper strip was corroded but all cleaned up with 120 grit paper. But reassembly of the flying contacts was a bitch!
They may look innocuous but fall off easily and don't want to hook back on, especially against the spring. Then, once both are fitted stably, they have to be separated a little while being inserted back into the fixed contact/connector section.
I haven't fitted it back in the car yet but measured the contact pairs and they were all stable low resistances.
