Hi new +2 owner

Hi,
I've just bought my first Lotus Elan, a 1972 +2S.

I'm an aerospace engineer, living in the North West of England, anyone else up this way?
I've owned a lot of classics in the past from Mini's to Porsches, however this is my first go at classic Lotus ownership!

The +2 is a bit of a project, paint not quite as good as it looks, has been off the road for a long time prior to previous owner doing a lot of mechanical work, now just needs using and fettling!
I will try to do most jobs myself, so hopefully will get a lot of useful info and help from this forum.

great pics - it looks like you found a nice original car, it's a credit to the previous owners.

These cars all need some fettling after 50 years, however good they look, so I'm sure you'll be plenty busy!

Yes it is fairly original, it's only had 5 previous owners and not been messed about with too much, still matching numbers engine etc... although it isn't in it's original colours, was originally blue with silver roof. Going to use it and enjoy it for a while then decide on whether to go back to original colours...
