Hi. I'm Bill, retired engineer, admirer of Chapman/Hickman and owner of a much loved yellow 1967 dhc Elan S3 SE bought in 1978 and rebuilt more times than I can remember, so you can guess roughly how old I am. Looking forward to exchanging information and experiences with other members.

Welcome! Still have mine from May 1979.
There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

Welcome Neal,
Good to have you with us and with such a lovely car.
There’s a few of us around in Surrey, perhaps our paths will cross.

Hi Richard
My name is Bill not Neal - that's just a silly anagram. I live near Farnham; what about you? Do send me a private message if you're interested in getting together.
Cheers
Bill

Yes I’ve spotted it now, hi Bill !
I’m on the Surrey/sussex/kent border so some way from you. However I’m sure our paths will cross at some point.
Nevertheless there are a number of Elan owners in your neck of the woods, so be prepared to wave. I’m sure they’ll be along shortly.
Car looks nice!
Regards,
Richard

Too polite to use Elan Louts!
Welcome BIll; looks great and a rare 'E' plate but far too shiny so drive that off!

Hi Bill and welcome. You are probably of average age in this group, at least as far as I'm concerned as I bought my S3 Coupe in 1976...and still have it.
I spent quite a few years living near Churt before moving to the Forest of Dean so have patrolled the roads in the area in my Elan many times. I had a bodyshell restored by a bodyshop last year in Passfield near Liphook, so spent most Saturdays in the area checking out progress.
I've also spent the last year restoring an S4 convertible, and that's made me realise the work I haven't done on the S3 in the past 30 plus years! That's the next job on the list.
