Hi,

I have been a forum member for over a year. but missed the introduction bit so I am rectifying that now.

I have a 73 Sprint FHC, one of the last 10 made I believe and before last March it had been off the road for 10 years, and then 10 years before that. I have had it since 1984 and until it came off the road I used it 2 or 3 times a week, every week, every weather.

It went on the road last March because my son announced about a year before then that he would like to use it at his wedding -- just as my wife and I did at ours in 1984, so I got it back to road worthiness although it has the engine out at present due to a clutch non-disengagement problem that I am about to fix.

Welcome J. Always good to get another Elan back on the road and its wonderful that your son wants to use it in his wedding. Maybe that will insure it has a better chance of staying in the family.

Welcome OP. If he doesn’t have your VIN and registration details can you send them to Tim Wilkes (TRW99 on here). He’ll be very interested as he’s particularly interested in Sprints (see. www.lotuselansprint.com ) and he’s working with the factory to reinstate Elan records.

Welcome John, surprised we didn't bump into each other way back. I used to live with my Girlfriend on Leigh road back in 83-84, I had a white Plus2 s130/5. You were quite close to Performance Unlimited...

In 83/4 we were living in Thundersley, we moved to Leigh in '87 (Eastwood Road) then in '98 to Westcliff. Although I used to take the car to Westcliff to get it MOT'd up until '98.
