Longtime lurker here, but finally registered......spent the last year or so looking for an Elan, and now I have one.....1966 Series 3 DHC.....I'm in San Diego CA and the car seems to have been in Southern CA since at least 2000 or so......I have a bunch of receipts but there are gaps, and so the history is a bit spotty.....car works fine but has a few issues, nothing seemingly serious.....
If anyone in the Southern California area recognizes the car or might know something about it, I would appreciate the insight....every little bit helps.....of course if the stories are really scary, then maybe I'm better off not knowing.....it is a new adventure.....
So anyway, just saying Hi to all.....

Very beautiful S3 DHC. These are simple and elegantly designed cars. They are at their best when driven and enjoyed.

Welcome...
I live in downtown San Diego, and you may see my white 67 drophead on my daily commute to mission valley, just not on rainy days ( have not put the top up, heater or choke on for 13 years since we moved here )...

I had seen pictures of your car before it was refurbished. Be interested to see pictures of the dash/interior to see how it turned out.
Looks to be a great car. Enjoy!

Hi, I'm Mike and I am a recovering Lotus-holic; also in San Diego.
This is my red S4
and the white one must be stovekjj's car, in front of Bill Schlossnagel's shop in El Cajon.
I have a newer Elan M100 as well.
