Hello group, I've been trolling for a while but had better properly engage! I've just acquired 36/6274, an S3 FHC in pretty decent condition. I have wanted an Elan for 35 years! Dozens of sports cars have come and gone, including 2 Europas, a Plus 2S/130 (a restoration I never got to) and a late model Elise, but never the small Elan. This one is the keeper!
It was advertised as an SE, and has the knock-on wheels, and used to have the sill strips, but other than that I'm not sure. I'm still calculating the transmission and differential gearing.
Resprayed to the later Plus 2 Bitter Green, it was yellow previously.
6274 was delivered to Canada (Sports Cars Unlimited, Toronto), and eventually found its way to Georgia and then to Boston, and now out to western Washington state.
I'm excited to be its new caretaker.

Welcome,
In my opinion this is the most attractive of the Elans.

Thanks for the welcome! Excited to be part of the group.
Confirmed the 3.55 differential in my car, reset front ride height, and replaced some grommets to reduce fumes getting sucked into the interior, and now good to go! What a lovely driving car!
