I've just signed up with this forum as dear old dad and I have just picked up an S4 Elan project. The car has been apart for a number of years now, but appears to be complete (minus a spare wheel). This project is the second Lotus in the garage at the moment, the other being a Europa "restomod". The goal is to have it back together sometime in the next two years, but we'll see what happens.

Great Father Son projects.
I wish my father had been more persistent in pushing me to do mine with him.
At least my son's wedding got us working together to be ready for his big day and honeymoon - as I had done 35 years before.

I'm also a relatively new Elan S4 owner, also in the process of assembly, and also a Europa owner (S2).

I'm finding the Elan a pleasant change to work on from the Europa - despite being a bit smaller, the body design makes it easier to get at many things (so far!).
