Hi Brad Baum here,
I'm the new owner of a 67 DHC by way of Bring a Trailer auctions this February. I'm glad to own a Elan with a recent ready to drive restoration, as I've got plenty to wrench on without another restoration project.
I've been a lurker on the forum for many months leading up to my purchase. Some of you I've even met before. In the early eighties I briefly owned a 1968 FHC, and today I have in addition to the new Elan, a 1990 Caterham, and a couple of Giulietta's from the fifties. My first brief Elan drive was as a teenager in 1966. Obviously unforgettable, I've now bought this DHC and live a few stop lights away from some excellent driving roads.

Just read that Henshaw has some water in it. Can remember going fishing as a kid and being able to boat around Monkey Island. The view from East Grade should be great.

Get those axles installed Jimmy.

I met a guy last Friday called Dondi also from this area with 2 elans. He brought a beautiful white S4.
He wants to join "North county jolly bouys Lotus" on our trips
He is a member here and should join in the conversation!
The CV Shafts will be installed once received. They are about 1/2 price of the US sourced items

Hello Brad/James
I have not formally introduced myself to the forum but have been a member for over 10 years. With the San Diego North County group expanding, I'd be thrilled to join in on any get together with the group.

Hi dudes :D

I lived several years in Solana Beach, lots of good memories and still a number of friends there (though it's been a while and I don't visit often), nice to see the SoCal crowd well represented here...

keep'em on the road !

Thanks everyone for the warm reception.
There's yet another SD north county Elan driver in Carmel Moutain Ranch, who approached me at Mothers Kitchen on Mt Palomar not long ago. Stewart noticed my Caterham, and came in to chat. I believe he brought his Elan with him from England to California.
I've been searching the technical forum for two issues I'm solving. Passengers widow glass has separated from its mounts and is inop.
The right parking brake caliper doesn't release, and was worn down from dragging.
Using search is a great way to broaden ones knowledge, long before finding what you need! It's fun though.
Regards, Brad
