Hello,
I have recently purchased a 1970 Elan from Tasmania and am looking forward to doing a full body off restoration on the car. I am sure this forum will give me a great deal of valuable information on the car. As I am recently retired my life long hobby of restoring cars has become a full time endeavor. I will post some pics as I get going.
Cheers
Steve

The car was in storage for decades so interior is almost factory fresh. No rust and body is indamaged. Should make a great resto

Little tip for you. If you want the rocker switches to look like new apply some silicon brake fluid.

Hi Steve,

Welcome! What a nice car. Good luck with the resto. You are lucky, Australia has some very knowledgeable Elanners.

Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete,
Many thanks, I am looking forward to getting the car. Getting a car out of Tasmania is proving very difficult, particularly when it doesn't go.
What sort of Lotus do you have.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,

It's an Elan DHC S4. 7001100050C. So it was produced in January in the same year as yours. I'm very envious, I am very grateful that I have it, but I do like the lines of the FHC. I imagine getting it out of Tasmania will be difficult if it's a non runner. Where about in Australia are you?

Regards,

Pete
