Probably time to introduce myself, having made use of the forums over the last year or so.
Name is Mike and many years ago I had an Elan S4 SE dhc which I thoroughly enjoyed. As I approach retirement I told myself that I needed a "project" - something to do with my time, as reason to get out of bed etc. I decided that I would get hold of an Elan and work on it.
It seemed only logical to go and survey the market and see what I might come up with when I eventually retired ( I haven't yet). In the course of this "research" after having looked at a couple of wrecks I came across a black Plus 2 S 130/5 and decided that this was The One. So, although it wasn't the plan, yet, I bought it.
Next problem was where to keep it. I live in East Sussex and at the time had nowhere to keep it. The only solution was to make use of my Father's spare garage. Problem was (is) that it is in County Durham. This meant that I could only work on it at holiday time. As I say, this wasn't the plan.I did this for a couple of years but missed the interest of it when I was back in East Sussex. By now I had room for another car but rather than move the Plus 2, I acquired an S3 fhc which needs lots and lots and lots of work.
The Plus 2 is getting towards being ready for mot (sort of) but the S3 is a long way off seeing the road.
Anyway, that's the story to date, and I'll go and post the current problem with the Plus 2 now.
Thanks.
Mike

Hi Mike,
I also have a +2 130/5 that I am 'rejuvenating'. It is mainly as it was in 1973 except for a tall block. I have renovated all of the running gear and brake system and 'all' that is needed now is the interior to re carpet and the screens fitting. If you need any help with what goes where I may be able to help,
I am in TheSouth East near Maidstone
Mick.
