Hello.
Just to introduce myself as a new member of the forum.
I'm interested in buying an elan - hopefully an s3 dhc. I currently have a couple of old porsche 911s. My only lotus so far has been a very early elise many moons ago. I also once had a mk2 lotus cortina that I never did get running..
I'm going to take it slow as I need to do quite a bit of research, so any tips or suggestions for reading material, etc would be very welcome.
Best
Will

Hi Stuart
Many thank for your reply.
I'm looking forward to learning more. I've had my eye on a few cars, if I am allowed to post here, these ones:

Welcome.

If you are considering those cars you have a healthy budget and not looking for a 'project' to renovate yourself?

What will you be using the car for?

Hi Bill
Well, I would have loved to have bought the TT car (i think its now sold) as it had over double that spent on it. and would have been great fun. But, it was out of reach for me right now.
The Oselli one looks like a lot of fun but again, I'd say about 5k over what I'd like to pay.
To answer your question, I would like one for fast road blasts (e.g. welsh mountains) and for runs to classic le mans, etc. Not so worried about looks, more interested in finding a nice sorted, solid one.
Best
Will

As for books, in my opinion you can't get better than Brian Buckland's manual. An extremely comprehensive guide to the Elan, including buying one. Available from Club Lotus https://shop.clublotus.co.uk/products/1 ... TAGE-RATE/
