Hi my names Phil Green. I'm the proud owner on what I believe is the penultimate Elan S2/SE DHC. HVT620D. I've have owned it 40 year now but most of those years it's been either laid up or being restored. Making inroads into it now finally. I'm sure I'm going to hit some minor snags on the way and hope this forum can put me in the right direction now and then. Many thanks for your acceptance.

That's good, the idea came about before the S3 was released then.

In need of the leather bound S2/SE Steering wheel now. Easier said than done I bet.

I have a '65 S2, it came with a woodrim, but a friend managed to find an S/E wheel for me, I just don't feel happy with the original wheel.

I think Len Chandler can supply excellent reproductions.

Great pictures of you car - thanks for posting.

Lovely picture of yours. I believe the leather bound wheel is for the SE version. I will check your lead out now, thanks. Just feel it's nice to keep it somewhere near original visibly if possible.

Welcome Phil :D I've just completed the restoration of my '65 S2 and I also have the original wood rim wheel. It does cause me some concern, but sourcing a replacement that still looks authentic is problematic. Coming up for a visit to Anglesey soon, where in N Wales are you?

No its not original at all. That's why it would be nice to try and get the correct one for the car. Easier said than done though.

I saw this post and thought it was my old car - only a few digits out with the registration

I knew the car from 1970, bought it in the late 80s as a collection of parts - rebuilt it over a couple of years - and sold it 10 years ago to Paul Matty to fund a Porsche purchase

My car came with this steering wheel which still hangs on the living room wall.
