Hello there,
I've used this site quite a lot whilst my dad and I restore and modify my 1969 Lotus Elan Plus 2, so it's nice to finally be on here and ask my own questions. The car is almost done so it's just down to chasing some ignition gremlins and putting the interior back together. It's been a nice father-son project

I would love to put it in the ABFM but that all depends on whether I can get it roadworthy by then. Technically I could legally drive it on the road now, however it doesn't start strongly. But look out for it if it is there. Yellow car black stripe, can't miss it.

I should probably introduce the car as well, being that it is the main focus of this forum  . I got this car a few years ago with the intention of it being a father son project that, when I got my licence, would become my first car (in hindsight, probably not the ideal first car but oh well). It didn't run but we were confident we could get it finished relatively quickly, what a lie that was. We did a bit of work on it, trying to get it started and when it finally turned over it made a huge clatter and a lot of smoke. Turns out someone (a prior owner I hasten to add) dropped a washer in the number 2 cylinder. Well we pulled the engine and rebuilt it with a new set of JE pistons and got the cams reground to a "hotter-than-sprint" grind as well a multitude of other, small expenses. The interior is bone stock including the rapidly deteriorating centre console (which I'm sure you know all about) other than we bought a new dash pad because the original foam one was gross. One of the biggest changes was an entirely new wiring harness for the car, due to the paranoia of an electrical fire. The car now runs beautifully and should be out on the road sometime next week.

I'm in Penticton (S4 Elan and S2 Esprit). Maybe we'll cross paths at the ABFM. I always have good intentions about going, but don't always get there. Cheers. -Will

Well I'll definitely be there, the car however, that's a different story. If it runs and starts strongly I'll bring it
